#GivingTuesday Will Help Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation Ease Gold Star Military Wives Burdens during the Holidays

Nov 25, 2015

Jacksonville Beach, FL— Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) hopes donors will cap a weekend of Thanksgiving and holiday cheer by donating to its mission on #GivingTuesday. The daylong celebration of generosity will take place on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, December 1, 2015.

For those who have lost a spouse or a parent, the holidays can be a painful reminder that someone we love is not in the picture. Approximately 97% of casualties at war are male, leaving mothers alone to care for their children. Any donation can help ease the burden that Gold Star wives have especially during the holidays, when money is even tighter, and 100% of donations to Fallen Patriots benefit the military families enrolled in their program.  Even a donation as low as $25 can help with school supplies.

Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the influence of social media and collaboration. The day was created to set aside a time that was all about celebrating the spirit of giving, a great American tradition. Giving Tuesday is attempting to build a social habit, to give a portion of Black Friday funds to non-profit organizations and remind people that there is more to holidays than consumerism and commercialization.

A college education is the single most important gift Fallen Patriots can give to Gold Star children. Leading up to #GivingTuesday, Fallen Patriots will highlight the immense difference others can make to ensure a future for Gold Star children.
